Hyundai Motor Group has officially introduced AllDayEnergy, a new global identity that brings together its Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy services under a single brand. The rollout will begin with V1G smart charging in the UK through the Kia App later this year, with plans to expand across Europe, the United States, and Korea.
AllDayEnergy Unifies Hyundai Motor Group’s V2X Services
Announced on July 24, 2026, in Seoul, AllDayEnergy combines Hyundai Motor Group’s existing V2X services into one global platform designed to deliver a consistent customer experience across different markets and service types.
The service will initially focus on V1G smart charging before expanding to include Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities.
The first rollout will take place in the UK through the Kia App in the second half of 2026, followed by planned expansion across Europe, the U.S., and Korea. The services will also be integrated into the vehicle apps of both Hyundai Motor and Kia.
Executive Outlines Global Energy Strategy
“When we launch AllDayEnergy through our Kia App later this year, we will be taking a significant step towards establishing our identity as a smart energy service provider. We will continue to expand our AllDayEnergy service globally, allowing customers to seamlessly optimize their energy usage, reduce their energy costs, and contribute to grid sustainability,” said Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group.
How AllDayEnergy Works
According to Hyundai Motor Group, AllDayEnergy is a unified global service that connects electric vehicle batteries with homes and electricity grids.
V2X technology enables bidirectional energy flow between an electric vehicle and the power grid, allowing an EV to function as a mobile energy storage system rather than simply consuming electricity while charging.
Customers can charge their vehicles when electricity prices are lower and later use the stored energy or supply it to an external system when needed. Depending on the market and available service, this can help manage charging costs, support household electricity needs, and enable participation in utility energy programs.
Energy Services Included Under AllDayEnergy
- V1G: Adjusts vehicle charging times based on real-time electricity prices, grid conditions, and customer preferences.
- V2G: Allows an electric vehicle battery to return energy to the electricity grid when required.
- V2H: Uses energy stored in an EV battery to support household electricity needs, including backup power during power outages.
Existing V2X Programs Across Multiple Markets
Hyundai Motor Group said it has already developed and operated V2X services in several regions.
In Korea, the company is piloting V2G technology in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. In the United States, it has deployed V2H services that provide emergency household backup power during events such as major wildfires. In the Netherlands, it has introduced V2G and smart charging services that optimize vehicle charging in response to dynamic electricity prices.
Access Through Hyundai and Kia Vehicle Apps
AllDayEnergy services will be available through the vehicle apps of Hyundai Motor and Kia. The initial rollout will begin in the UK Kia App later this year, with the company planning to expand availability to additional markets over time.
Hyundai Motor Group said the AllDayEnergy name reflects its vision of making smart energy management a natural part of customers’ daily lives while advancing its transition into a smart energy solutions provider.
The company said the new global identity brings its V2X services together under one platform as it prepares for a phased rollout beginning with V1G smart charging and expanding to additional services and markets.
