A 1995 Ferrari F50 once owned by Mike Tyson is set to cross the auction block at RM Sotheby’s, combining one of Ferrari’s most sought-after supercars with a well-known ownership history. The low-mileage example is expected to sell for between $7 million and $9 million.
Mike Tyson’s Former Ferrari F50 Returns to the Market
Celebrity-owned vehicles often attract additional attention from collectors, and this 1995 Ferrari F50 is no exception. According to the RM Sotheby’s listing, chassis number 104220 was built to U.S. specifications in 1995 and finished in Rosso Corsa over a Nero interior with Rosso seat inserts.
The car was delivered through Ferrari North America to Beverly Hills, California, where it was purchased by former owner Mike Tyson, who has publicly expressed his enthusiasm for supercars.
A Well-Documented Ownership History
Tyson owned the Ferrari F50 for approximately one year before selling it to Mr. Amirvand, who retained the car until 2000. The third owner kept the vehicle for four years before selling it to a technology executive, who later transferred ownership to another collector in Atlanta.
The Ferrari subsequently changed hands four more times. Following the passing of its most recent owner, the vehicle is now being offered for sale as part of the owner’s estate.
Low Mileage and Recent Ferrari Servicing
The F50 has accumulated just over 6,000 miles since its delivery in 1996. In 2022, the car received major servicing from Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale.
Before the auction, it also underwent additional servicing by Ferrari of Newport Beach. The sale includes extensive original documentation, along with a pair of boxing gloves signed by Mike Tyson.
RM Sotheby’s has placed an estimated sale price of between $7 million and $9 million on the vehicle.
The Ferrari F50’s Legacy
The Ferrari F50 was introduced as the successor to the F40 and was named in celebration of Ferrari’s 50th anniversary. The supercar was developed with close ties to Ferrari’s Formula 1 program, featuring a carbon-fiber tub and a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V12 derived from the engine used in the team’s 1992 Formula 1 car.
With its limited mileage, documented ownership history, recent Ferrari servicing, and connection to Mike Tyson, this 1995 Ferrari F50 is expected to draw significant interest when it comes to auction at RM Sotheby’s.
