Jetour GAIA became the first Chinese brand to participate in the 60th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, marking a milestone for the international automotive industry. Although Jetour vehicles are not currently sold in the United States, the company brought its off-road models to one of America’s best-known trail events to demonstrate their engineering capabilities to U.S. enthusiasts.
Jetour G700 Takes on Moab’s Challenging Terrain
At the event, Jetour’s flagship G700 joined established off-road vehicles on Moab’s demanding trails. The SUV tackled the area’s steep ledges and technical terrain, drawing attention from spectators accustomed to seeing vehicles such as the Toyota 4Runner TRD and Jeep Wrangler dominate the landscape.
The G700 completed the red rock trails with technical precision, highlighting the company’s focus on advancing its all-terrain capabilities.
Testing Performance in Extreme Off-Road Conditions
Moab has long been recognized as a destination for off-road enthusiasts, with terrain that includes slickrock, loose sand, and steep vertical ledges. These conditions place significant demands on vehicle weight distribution, chassis durability, and four-wheel-drive performance.
The high-power Jetour G700 and its companion model navigated these challenging obstacles with notable composure. To evaluate the vehicles under extreme conditions, Jetour invited Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame driver Robby Gordon and adventurer Hazen Audel to conduct intensive driving sessions across some of Moab’s most demanding routes.
According to the company, Gordon praised the vehicle’s agility and power delivery, saying that overcoming technical rock obstacles requires precise traction control and consistent articulation. He also noted that the suspension tuning allowed the vehicle to complete complex ascents without mechanical issues, supporting Jetour’s broader chassis engineering objectives.
Jetour Highlights Its Off-Road Development
Jetour’s participation in the Utah event represents a shift from its earlier emphasis on affordable urban electric vehicles designed primarily for city driving. By completing Moab’s off-road trails, the company demonstrated its ability to develop heavy-duty adventure vehicles designed to meet global durability standards.
The company is also developing a midsize hybrid pickup for international markets. Its participation at the Easter Jeep Safari showcased its engineering capabilities on one of the United States’ most recognized off-road destinations, concluding its appearance at the annual event.
