Shaquille O’Neal’s one-of-a-kind custom electric coupe has surfaced at a salvage auction after sustaining significant front-end damage. The heavily modified EV, built by West Coast Customs to accommodate the NBA legend’s 7-foot-1 frame, shows extensive crash damage while retaining many of its unique structural modifications.
A One-Off EV Built for Shaquille O’Neal
After taking delivery of the luxury electric sedan in 2024, O’Neal found that the factory four-door layout did not provide enough legroom or doorway clearance for comfortable daily use.
Instead of replacing the vehicle, he turned to West Coast Customs for an extensive coachbuilding project. The builders removed the rear doors, eliminated the center B-pillars, and created longer front doors, transforming the sedan into a unique two-door coupe.
The modifications also included extending the driver’s seat tracks farther into the cabin while maintaining seating for five passengers. The finished vehicle featured Zenith Red Metallic paint and custom dark multi-spoke wheels.
Crash Damage Revealed at Auction
The custom EV later appeared on Copart with extensive front-end damage. The auction listing does not disclose how the collision occurred, who was driving the vehicle, or where the crash took place.
Auction photos show severe damage concentrated at the front of the vehicle. The front bumper, LED headlight assembly, and front splitter have been torn away, while the aluminum hood is heavily buckled. One of the vehicle’s twin radiators is also hanging near the wheel arch, indicating substantial damage to the cooling system.
Custom Bodywork Largely Survived
Despite the extensive damage to the front end, much of the custom work completed by West Coast Customs appears to have remained intact. The extended side doors, rear quarter panels, and aftermarket wheels show no major structural distortion in the auction images.
The vehicle has 2,898 miles on its digital odometer and features a 620-horsepower all-wheel-drive powertrain. The auction listing estimates its retail value at $59,990, compared with an original base price of more than $82,200 before the custom body modifications.
A Challenging Restoration Project
Restoring a crashed electric vehicle presents significant challenges, and rebuilding a one-off coachbuilt coupe adds further complexity. Replacing bespoke body panels, custom door hinges, and hand-fabricated quarter panels would require specialized metal fabrication work.
The custom EV also joins a collection of unique vehicles associated with Shaquille O’Neal, whose automotive projects have included stretched exotic cars and amphibious custom Impalas built to fit his height. Although the vehicle now sits in a salvage yard, much of its custom structure remains intact, preserving the distinctive build that made it unlike any other example.
