Stellantis announced that the Ram 1500 claimed the No. 1 position in the light-duty pickup category of the J.D. Power 2026 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study.
According to the company, the Ram 1500 received the highest scores in key areas including capability, comfort, technology, and performance, contributing to its top finish in the segment.
Study Measures New Owner Satisfaction
The J.D. Power APEAL Study evaluates more than traditional vehicle quality metrics by focusing on how owners feel about their vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership.
The study measures 37 specific attributes, including comfort, technology, design, and response and exhilaration while driving. It also examines the experiences that create emotional connection and excitement among new vehicle owners.
Stellantis Highlights Customer Feedback
Tim Kuniskis, head of American brands and North America marketing at Stellantis North America, said the recognition reflects the opinions of Ram owners.
“The Ram 1500’s No. 1 finish comes straight from the people who know our trucks best — our customers,” Kuniskis said.
He added that Ram customers know what they expect from a truck and recognize when the vehicle delivers on those expectations.
Recognition Marks a Positive Result for Ram
The company said the award represents a positive outcome for the Ram brand, which has been the leading marque for the Stellantis group in the United States. It also comes as the company has significant expectations surrounding the reintroduction of the Rumble Bee performance models.
