The Porsche 911 has long been known for retaining its value, but the current 992 generation is showing a different trend. New market data indicates that slightly used Porsche 911 models have experienced a notable decline in asking prices over the past year, making ownership more attainable for used-car buyers.
Market Data Shows Sharp Decline for Used Porsche 911 Models
According to recent market data from iSeeCars, the average list price of a slightly used Porsche 911 fell by more than $14,000 between the summer of 2025 and the summer of 2026.
The report says that decline represents a 10% annual drop, marking a departure from the Porsche 911’s longstanding reputation for strong resale value. While classic 911 models continue to command high prices, the current-generation 992 is experiencing a noticeable price correction.
Higher New-Car Prices Contribute to Depreciation
One factor behind the decline is the significant increase in the cost of new models.
When the 992-generation Porsche 911 debuted in 2020, the base Carrera started at less than $100,000. Today, the same base model is priced at nearly $140,000 before optional equipment is added. Higher-performance versions, including the GT3, have also experienced substantial price increases.
As initial retail prices have climbed, the potential for depreciation has increased as well.
Supply Is Catching Up With Demand
The report also points to changing market conditions as another reason for lower used-car prices.
According to the article, dealership inventories have recovered, while more leased Porsche 911 models are entering the used market. At the same time, supply is gradually catching up with demand as buyers who wanted a new 911 have already purchased one.
Used-Car Buyers May Benefit From Market Shift
Although the 992-generation Porsche 911 continues to deliver a highly regarded driving experience, the article notes that it is now depreciating more like a typical luxury vehicle than a financial asset.
For prospective buyers, the lower asking prices could make a modern Porsche 911 more accessible. The recent decline in used values reflects changing market conditions as prices continue to move closer to previous expectations.
