Hyundai July sales reached 82,480 vehicles in the United States, marking a 4% increase from July 2025 and the company’s best July sales performance on record. Record demand for hybrid models and strong SUV sales helped drive the automaker’s latest monthly results.
Hyundai Posts Record July Sales
Hyundai Motor America reported total July sales of 82,480 units, up 4% year over year. The company also recorded its highest-ever July sales for the Tucson family, with deliveries rising 20% compared with the same month last year.
The results were supported by continued demand across Hyundai’s lineup of cars, SUVs, and electrified vehicles.
CEO Highlights Growth in Hybrid SUVs
“Hyundai’s July results demonstrate the growing appeal of our hybrid-powered SUVs, with hybrid sales increasing 35% year over year,” said Randy Parker, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor North America.
“Tucson and Elantra continued to lead, while hybrid models across the lineup helped drive electrified vehicles to one-third of all retail sales. Our balanced portfolio of cars, SUVs and electrified vehicles continues to resonate with customers.”
Electrified Vehicle Sales Reach New July High
Hyundai said July was its best month on record for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) sales and total electrified vehicle sales for the month of July.
Hybrid demand was led by all-time July records for the Sonata HEV, which increased 85% year over year, the Elantra HEV, up 13%, and the Tucson HEV, which gained 5%.

Product and Corporate Highlights
During July, Hyundai announced a series of product, technology, community, and motorsports initiatives.
- The 2026 IONIQ 5 N received a $6,300 price reduction, lowering its starting price to $59,900 while adding a native NACS charging port, enhanced N Drift Optimizer features, included charging adapters, and a new Performance Blue Pearl exterior color.
- Hyundai launched its 2026 Getaway Summer Sales Event, offering financing and retail incentives across its lineup while highlighting that 18 models are priced below $50,000 and eight below $30,000.
- The company introduced the 2027 Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Black Ink, a new flagship trim featuring black exterior styling and a turbocharged hybrid powertrain.
- The IONIQ 9 received the New England Motor Press Association’s Best Winter EV award.

Hyundai Motor America said it continues to offer U.S. consumers a lineup of cars, SUVs, and electrified vehicles while supporting Hyundai Motor Company’s Progress for Humanity vision.
The company maintains operations across the United States, including its North American headquarters in California, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, research and development facilities, and a network of more than 855 independent dealers. These operations are part of Hyundai Motor Group’s planned $26 billion investment in the United States between 2025 and 2028.
Hyundai’s record July performance reflects continued growth in hybrid demand, strong SUV sales, and broad consumer interest across its electrified vehicle lineup.
