Genesis is preparing to introduce its flagship GV90, with the full-size luxury SUV expected to make its global debut later this month. The anticipated unveiling, which aligns with the timing of Monterey Car Week, will provide the first official look at the production model and its final specifications.

Genesis GV90 Targets the Full-Size Luxury SUV Segment

Based heavily on the Neolun concept, the production Genesis GV90 is positioned to compete with established luxury SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Range Rover.

One of the vehicle’s most distinctive features is expected to be its rear-opening coach doors. In an interview with CAR Magazine, Genesis Europe Managing Director Peter Kronschnabl said the GV90 will “be the only car with rear-opening doors in its segment.”

The coach-door design is expected to serve as a key feature for the model. Industry expectations cited in the report suggest the rear-opening doors will likely be offered as an option on higher trim levels rather than as standard equipment.

GV90 Expected to Launch as an Electric SUV

The report notes that Genesis has consistently carried many concept styling elements into production vehicles, raising expectations that the GV90 will closely resemble its concept predecessor.

The expected reveal later this month is anticipated to provide the GV90’s final specifications, including battery range, motor output, interior dimensions, and pricing.
