The McMurtry Spéirling PURE is set to make its global public debut in the United States after months of teasers and an online reveal. The production version of the record-inspired electric performance car will be showcased during Monterey Car Week before heading to the legendary Laguna Seca Raceway.

Since its debut on the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, the McMurtry Spéirling has established itself as an automotive icon. Originally introduced as a prototype and engineering concept rather than a road car, the project eventually evolved into a production model.
Following several years of development, McMurtry introduced the Spéirling PURE. Now, the company has confirmed that the production vehicle will make its first public appearance in the United States.
Global Public Debut at Monterey Car Week
McMurtry Automotive announced that the recently revealed Spéirling PURE will make its global public debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week on August 14.
During the 23rd edition of the event, the PURE will be displayed at the McMurtry booth, giving attendees their first opportunity to see the production car in person.
Following its appearance at The Quail, the Spéirling PURE will move to Laguna Seca Raceway on August 15 for the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
Company Executive Highlights the Milestone
McMurtry co-founder and Managing Director Thomas Yates is scheduled to attend both events.
Speaking about the debut, Yates said, “The Quail really will be a significant moment in McMurtry’s history, and we cannot wait to witness the reaction of the public, our customers and the media in seeing the Spéirling PURE in production form, in person, for the first time. It’s one thing to see the images online, but to truly absorb the car’s design, proportions, details and finish, nothing compares to when the car is there in front of you.”
Spéirling PURE Features and Customization
According to McMurtry, the Spéirling PURE is directly derived from its record-breaking vehicle while incorporating 95% new components. The company also says the production model delivers what it describes as the closest F1-like performance that can be purchased and enjoyed.
Key updates include increased battery capacity, a larger interior, and hydraulic power steering designed to provide improved driving feel.
Priced at $1.3 million, the Spéirling PURE also offers buyers a range of customization options. Customers can choose from multiple wheel designs, graphics and decals, and paint finishes, while the cabin can be personalized with different stitching, logos, and steering wheel trim.
