The McMurtry Spéirling PURE will make its global public debut in the United States after months of teasers and an online reveal. The production version of the record-inspired electric performance car will be showcased during Monterey Car Week before heading to Laguna Seca Raceway for its next public appearance.
McMurtry Spéirling PURE Heads to Monterey Car Week
Since its debut as a prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, the McMurtry Spéirling has established itself as a standout automotive creation. While the original version was developed as an engineering concept rather than a road car, McMurtry later committed to creating a production model.
Following several years of development, that effort resulted in the launch of the Spéirling PURE, which is now set for its first public appearance.
Global Public Debut at The Quail
McMurtry Automotive announced that the recently revealed PURE production car will make its global public debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week on August 14.
At the 23rd edition of the event, the Spéirling PURE will be displayed at the McMurtry booth, giving attendees their first opportunity to see the production vehicle in person.
After The Quail, the PURE will move to Laguna Seca Raceway, where it will appear on August 15 during the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
McMurtry co-founder and Managing Director Thomas Yates is scheduled to attend both events. He said:
“The Quail really will be a significant moment in McMurtry’s history, and we cannot wait to witness the reaction of the public, our customers and the media in seeing the Spéirling PURE in production form, in person, for the first time. It’s one thing to see the images online, but to truly absorb the car’s design, proportions, details and finish, nothing compares to when the car is there in front of you.”
Production Model Features Extensive Updates
According to McMurtry, the Spéirling PURE is directly derived from the record-breaking car but incorporates 95% new components. The company also says the PURE delivers the closest experience to Formula 1-like performance that customers can purchase and enjoy.
Among the vehicle’s key updates are an upgraded battery with increased capacity, a larger interior, and hydraulic power steering designed to improve driving feel.
Customization Options for Buyers
The McMurtry Spéirling PURE carries a price tag of $1.3 million and offers customers several personalization options.
Owners can choose from a selection of wheels, graphics, decals, and paint finishes. Interior customization includes choices for stitching, logos, and steering wheel trim.
The Spéirling PURE’s upcoming appearances at The Quail and the Monterey Motorsports Reunion will mark the first time the production model is displayed publicly, giving enthusiasts, customers, and media an opportunity to see the car in person.
