The Lamborghini Revuelto SV has recorded a 1:41.6 lap at Germany’s Hockenheim Grand Prix circuit ahead of its official debut on August 14 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in California. Lamborghini says the time represents the fastest lap ever recorded by a production super sports car at Hockenheim, although the claim has drawn attention because other road-legal vehicles have posted quicker laps.
Revuelto SV Posts 1:41.6 Lap Before Official Debut
Lamborghini factory and test driver Marco Mapelli set the 1:41.6 lap in the yet-to-be-revealed Revuelto SV. The performance comes ahead of the model’s public unveiling on August 14 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
The achievement follows Lamborghini’s previous Nürburgring Nordschleife production car record, set in 2018 when the Aventador SVJ completed the circuit in 6:44.97. That record prompted questions from some rival automakers regarding its validity.
How the Revuelto SV Compares With Mercedes-AMG and McLaren
The Revuelto SV’s 1:41.6 lap is faster than the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which recorded a 1:43.3. However, it is slower than the McLaren Senna’s 1:40.79 and the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s 1:38.56.
Asked why it describes the Revuelto SV as setting a new production car record, Lamborghini provided the following explanation:
“The Revuelto SV set its lap time on the Hockenheim Grand Prix circuit, using the same layout on which the Mercedes-AMG ONE recorded its time. However, our claim refers specifically to the Revuelto SV as the fastest production super sports car at Hockenheim. The AMG ONE is a limited-production hypercar, with a fundamentally different technical concept, production volume, and price positioning.”
According to Lamborghini, the distinction is based on the Revuelto SV being categorized as a production super sports car rather than a limited-production hypercar.
Production and Pricing Differences
Lamborghini noted that the Mercedes-AMG ONE differs in production volume, technical concept, and price positioning. The AMG ONE was priced at around $2.72 million, and production was limited to 275 units.
Reports Point to Higher Output for the Revuelto SV
Recent reports claim the Lamborghini Revuelto SV could produce as much as 1,065 horsepower from its 6.5-liter V12 hybrid powertrain, exceeding the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s 1,049 horsepower.
Other rumors suggest the Revuelto SV could deliver between 1,200 and 1,400 horsepower to all four wheels. The reports also note that the Revuelto remains early in its lifecycle and that Lamborghini may introduce even more extreme special editions in the coming years.
Additional Lamborghini Models Expected
Beyond the Revuelto SV, additional Lamborghini launches are expected before the end of 2026, including a convertible Temerario Spyder. A four-seat grand tourer is also expected to join the Lamborghini lineup, with more information likely to emerge next year.
