The MINI Convertible Stardust Edition adds distinctive styling to MINI’s drop-top lineup with a rare BMW color, rally-inspired wheels and a black interior. Launched in India earlier this week, the special edition is exclusive to the Indian market and costs only modestly more than the standard MINI Convertible.
MINI Convertible Stardust Edition Gets a Rare Color
The centerpiece of the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition is its Sparkling Copper Grey metallic paint, a color described as woefully underused across the BMW spectrum. Aside from the MINI, it has otherwise appeared only through BMW’s Individual Paint palette, with the BMW X7 being the exception.
The special edition goes beyond its distinctive paint. MINI has fitted the convertible with 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke wheels finished in Vibrant Silver, giving the car a particularly aggressive, rally-inspired appearance.
Although 18-inch wheels can be ordered on MINIs in the U.S. and elsewhere, the Stardust Edition is among the few occasions, if any, when the wheels have appeared on a non-JCW production MINI. Their chunky design and red accents add to the rally-inspired look.
The mirror caps are also finished in Vibrant Silver. The treatment recalls BMW’s former use of Cerium Grey, which appeared on M Performance models such as the M340i and X3 M40i when they debuted.
No Extra Performance Under the Hood
Despite the JCW-sourced wheels and distinctive exterior finish, the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition does not bring additional performance compared with the regular MINI Convertible.
The black interior complements the Sparkling Copper Grey exterior, while the rest of the changes remain primarily focused on appearance. The special edition therefore stands apart through its styling rather than through mechanical upgrades.
MINI Convertible Stardust Edition Price in India
The Stardust Edition also carries a relatively small premium over the standard MINI Convertible in India. The standard model launched at INR 58,50,000 in December of last year, while the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition is priced at INR 62,90,000.
The newest MINI Convertible, carrying the F67 chassis code, launched in late 2024 for most of the world. The Indian market officially received the newest model in December 2025.
MINI Convertible Engine and Indian-Market Specification
As with all BMW and MINI offerings in the country, the MINI Convertible is available in India as a completely built-up unit (CBU), meaning assembly takes place wholly in India.
The F67 is offered in India exclusively with BMW’s B48 four-cylinder engine. In this market, it produces 204 horsepower, compared with the 161-hp engine fitted to the car sold in the United States.
Sparkling Copper Grey Comes to Life
While the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition itself is not coming to the U.S., Sparkling Copper Grey can normally be ordered in the American market. The new images provide a closer look at how the relatively uncommon color appears on the MINI Convertible.
The 18-inch rally-style wheels are among the most distinctive elements of the special edition, giving the convertible an appearance that is more subdued than the AC Schnitzer convertible recently featured, while still remaining unmistakably bold.
