The Ram Power Wagon is finally available with a Cummins diesel for the 2027 model year, giving the heavy-duty adventure pickup more towing and payload capability than before. Ram announced Monday that the diesel-powered Power Wagon starts at $89,560, including the destination fee.

2027 Ram Power Wagon Price and Cummins Option

The 6.7-liter Cummins diesel is a new engine option for the Power Wagon, which previously offered only the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 gasser. The Cummins itself costs $12,995, while the Level 2 equipment group adds another $8,545.

That means a Power Wagon equipped with the diesel and additional equipment can quickly push beyond $100,000 at the dealership.

Power Wagon Gains More Towing and Payload Capacity

With the Cummins engine, the three-quarter-ton Power Wagon can tow up to 19,630 pounds, while maximum payload is rated at 2,930 pounds.

The diesel produces 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The truck also retains its locking differentials at both ends, push-button sway bar disconnect and factory 34-inch tires.

Ram Adds Protection for the Diesel Powertrain

Ram made additional changes to accommodate the Cummins rather than simply installing the diesel in the existing Power Wagon.

The truck receives more skid plating underneath to protect the diesel exhaust fluid tank, fuel tank and transfer case.

With a 31-gallon diesel fuel tank, the Power Wagon should be able to travel more than 600 miles between fill-ups.

Diesel Power Wagon Gives Up the Factory Winch

Despite the added capability of the Cummins, buyers who choose the optional diesel over the gas V8 lose the factory winch.

The diesel-powered 2027 Ram Power Wagon starts at $89,560 with the destination fee included, while the Cummins and available Level 2 equipment group can raise the price substantially beyond the base figure.
