The Eccentrica Diablo V12 Roadster has arrived as a heavily reworked tribute to the Lamborghini Diablo, featuring more than 3,500 new parts and a completely redesigned body. The convertible combines a rebuilt 5.7-liter V12 producing 550 horsepower with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.
Eccentrica Reworks the Lamborghini Diablo
Eccentrica launched its first reimagined Lamborghini Diablo two years ago. Called La Prima, Italian for The First, the car debuted at Monterey Car Week with its 5.7-liter V12.
The new V12 Roadster takes the same approach in convertible form, but the project involves a team with significant Lamborghini experience. Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini’s former Chief Technical Officer, is part of the team. He led the Murcielago project as well as the Huracan and Aventador.
Eccentrica created an entirely new body for the Diablo using steel and carbon fiber, while also widening the track for a more planted stance.
Roofless Diablo Gets a Full Aerodynamic Study
Removing the roof required more than simply cutting away the original structure. Eccentrica conducted a full aerodynamic study to ensure the Roadster maintained proper airflow for engine cooling while also improving the experience inside the car.
The result is an early Diablo that has been transformed to look considerably newer while retaining the character of the original. The only styling detail that remains questionable after repeated looks is the angel eyes surrounding the headlights.
Rebuilt V12 Produces 550 Horsepower
Eccentrica rebuilt the Diablo’s 5.7-liter Lamborghini V12 to deliver sharper throttle response, a wider power band and more immediate power delivery.
The remapped engine produces 550 horsepower, which is 65 horsepower more than the original Roadster.
The car weighs just under 3,400 pounds and sends its power through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.
Modern Suspension, Brakes and Interior
Underneath the carbon fiber-reinforced chassis, Eccentrica has revised the suspension geometry using modern engineering. The Roadster also features semi-active dampers designed to balance comfort and handling.
Modern Brembo brakes provide the stopping power, while the cabin receives a more luxurious treatment.
Connolly leather and Alcántara microfiber cover the soft-touch areas, while anodized finishes and exposed carbon fiber are used on the harder surfaces.
Only 19 Eccentrica V12 Roadsters Planned
Eccentrica plans to build just 19 V12 Roadsters, alongside 19 coupes. Each car will be built bespoke for its owner, allowing for individual choices of color and fabric.
The Eccentrica V12 Roadster will make its debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week 2026 on August 14.
