Rezvani is stepping away from its recent run of armored trucks and SUVs with the new Beast X, a low-slung supercar producing 1,560 horsepower and 1,280 lb-ft of torque. Based on the company’s original Beast, the new model is limited to just five examples and is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
Rezvani Returns to Its Sports-Car Roots
The California-based automaker has recently focused on military-inspired vehicles, including the Tank and Fortress. Those models are part of Rezvani’s lineup of Tactical Utility Vehicles, but the company also has a history of building low-slung sports and supercars.
Rezvani’s first car was the Beast, which was based on the Ariel Atom. The company is now returning to that formula with the Beast X, described as potentially its most extreme model yet.
Production will be extremely limited, with only five examples of the Beast X planned.
Beast X Gets 1,560-HP Twin-Turbo V8
The Beast X is powered by a 6.2-liter twin-turbo V8. Rezvani describes the engine as bespoke, with output rated at 1,560 hp and 1,280 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system featuring selectable drive modes. Rezvani claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds.
The new Beast X represents a major step beyond the previous model carrying the same name. The earlier Beast X used a 2.4-liter engine producing 700 hp, yet its lightweight body allowed it to reach 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
With more than twice the previous model’s power and a larger cylinder count, the new Beast X is claimed to deliver sub-2-second acceleration.
Carbon Fiber Body and Adaptive Suspension
Rezvani has not provided an official curb weight for the new Beast X. Its all-wheel-drive system could make it somewhat heavier than the original Beast X, although the new model uses a carbon-fiber body.
The car’s swooping design is intended to provide strong aerodynamic performance, while adaptive double-wishbone suspension is also included.
Despite its supercar-focused design, the all-wheel-drive system includes a terrain management system with selectable modes for sand, mud, rock crawling, Baja driving and snow.
Beast X Reservations Open
Rezvani has not announced a price for the Beast X. However, prospective buyers can place a reservation with a $1,500 fee, which is refundable.
With production limited to five examples, the Beast X marks a return to Rezvani’s sports-car roots while delivering a substantial increase in power over the previous Beast X.
