The Kith BMW X5 is set to be a one-of-one 2027 show car, with a new teaser revealing the upcoming collaboration in a matte silver finish. Kith founder and CEO Ronnie Fieg had previously previewed the project, and a new Instagram clip provides the latest look ahead of its full reveal during Monterey Car Week.
Kith BMW X5 Gets a Matte Silver Finish
Kith posted a roughly 10-second clip showing a G65 X5 speeding along a wooded two-lane road. The SUV wears special “X5 KITH” badging and a matte silver finish identified as Frozen Titanium Silver, a matte interpretation of the shade used on Fieg’s own E53 X5.
The older E53 X5 is also an important part of the collaboration. It receives a V10 engine lifted from the E60 M5 and E63 M6, along with a six-speed manual transmission, while retaining the factory all-wheel-drive system. The setup recalls the X5 Le Mans.
BMW X5 by Kith Will Not Be Sold
The most significant detail in Kith’s Instagram caption may not be the teaser itself. It states, “The 2027 BMW X5 by Kith is a one-of-one show car and is not available for purchase.”
That would make the X5 different from previous Kith and BMW collaborations that eventually reached customers. The BMW XM by Kith, for example, initially debuted as a “Concept” and “one-of-one design study,” but BMW also stated that it was previewing a 47-unit run for customers.
Based on the caption, BMW has no plans to offer a customer version of the X5 collaboration. The vehicle appears intended as a show car for Kith and BMW rather than a model destined for customer hands.
The Fifth Public Kith and BMW Collaboration
The upcoming X5 represents the fifth public Kith and BMW collaboration. The partnership began with the Cinnabar Red M4 Competition x Kith in 2020, also known as “Chapter I.” That model was limited to 150 units and featured extensive Kith branding inside and outside the car.
The BMW i4 M50 x Kith followed, demonstrating that the collaboration could extend to electric vehicles. The third chapter was the BMW XM by Kith.
Just yesterday, an Inka Orange duo also debuted. An extensively customized 3.0 CSi and M6, both featuring caramel interiors, premiered together this week as part of the promotion for the Kith for BMW 2026 collection.
Full Kith BMW X5 Reveal Coming Soon
The latest teaser provides limited information about the Kith X5, particularly the interior, where many of the most extensive customizations typically appear on these collaborations.
A full reveal has been confirmed for Monterey Car Week, meaning more details about the one-of-one Kith BMW X5 are expected to arrive within the next few days.
