Jeep is expanding the Grand Cherokee lineup for 2027 with a new Laredo Upland trim, updated equipment across several models and a revised powertrain strategy for the Trailhawk.
The 2027 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk continues to target serious off-road drivers, while the Overland combines trail-focused equipment with a more upscale appearance and interior. Meanwhile, the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid has been dropped from the lineup.
Trailhawk Gets the 2.0-Liter Hurricane Engine
For 2027, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is powered by a 2.0-liter Hurricane turbo-four producing 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.
The Trailhawk also retains its off-road-focused equipment, including Quadra-Trac II, a two-speed transfer case, air suspension and all-terrain tires.
Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland Adds Off-Road Style for Less
The biggest addition to the 2027 lineup is the new Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland. Jeep positions the Upland as an option for buyers who want some of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk’s rugged appearance and equipment without paying the higher price of a Trailhawk or Overland.
The Laredo Upland rides on 18-inch wheels borrowed from the Trailhawk and uses 265/60R18 all-terrain tires. It also features a Trailhawk-style front fascia, Vapor Gray tow hooks, a body-color roof and dark gray exterior accents.
Inside, the Upland receives Capri leatherette and suede seats finished in Global Black, giving the Laredo a more distinctive appearance while keeping the package relatively straightforward.
The Upland name is also familiar within the Jeep lineup. Jeep previously used the name on a limited Grand Cherokee and on the Grand Wagoneer, where it represented a combination of upscale features and additional off-road equipment.
More Standard Equipment Across the 2027 Grand Cherokee
The Upland is not the only change for the 2027 Grand Cherokee. Laredo and Laredo X models now come standard with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, replacing the previous 8.4-inch unit. Both trims also receive new 18-inch wheels.
The Laredo Altitude also gets the new 18-inch wheels.
Limited models receive new 20-inch wheels, wireless charging and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Limited Reserve adds auto-folding power mirrors.
Jeep is also expanding the available exterior color selection. The 2027 Grand Cherokee can be specified in High Gloss Black, Sting Gray, Ghost, Red Hot, Olive Green, Midnight Sky, Ember and Red Rock.
2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Prices
The new Grand Cherokee Upland starts at $49,990, including the $1,995 destination charge. That places it below the $54,995 Trailhawk and $57,895 Overland.

With the new Upland positioned between the entry-level Grand Cherokee and the more expensive Trailhawk, Jeep is giving buyers another way to add rugged styling and all-terrain capability to the 2027 Grand Cherokee lineup.
