The Porsche Macan EV got off to a strong start, outselling its combustion-powered counterpart globally last year. Porsche delivered 45,367 battery-powered Macans during the period, compared with 38,961 combustion-powered models.

That momentum has since weakened. Global Macan sales fell 23% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, while sales of the electric model dropped 43% compared with the previous quarter. The combustion-powered Macan, which has now ended production, also outsold the EV during that period.

With Porsche looking to reignite interest in its electric crossover, the company has introduced a series of updates for the 2027 Macan. The changes are currently aimed at the European market, although some are expected to eventually reach North American models.

New Advanced Package Adds More Equipment

For 2027, Porsche is bundling several popular options into a new Advanced Package. The package is available for the base Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S.

It includes a panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlights and automatically dimming side and rear-view mirrors. Buyers also gain access to an expanded selection of exterior colors.

Inside, the package adds 14-way adjustable Comfort seats, black leather and a Bose Surround Sound System. It also brings several chassis upgrades, including Power Steering Plus, adaptive air suspension with self-leveling and height adjustment, and Porsche Active Suspension Management.

In Germany, the Advanced Package costs €5,990, or around $6,900, for the Macan and Macan 4. For the Macan 4S, the package costs €5,299.07, approximately $6,120. U.S. pricing will depend on which features North American product planners choose to include.

Macan GTS and Turbo Get Faster AC Charging

Another major update for 2027 is an increase in standard AC charging capability on the Macan GTS and Macan Turbo. Both models will receive a 22-kW onboard charger, allowing them to recharge more quickly at compatible public charging stations.

The Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S continue with an 11-kW maximum onboard charger as standard, but buyers can option those models with the 22-kW unit.

All versions retain DC fast-charging capability of up to 270 kW.

Automated Parking Adds New Convenience

The 2027 Macan also introduces Automated Parking with 2D Surround View. The system detects parking spaces between and in front of objects and can take control of the parking maneuver once activated, including operating the necessary signal lights.

The system can also assist when leaving a parking space, adding another convenience feature to the electric crossover.

Porsche Macan EV Faces Greater Pressure

The updates arrive as Porsche attempts to rebuild momentum around the Macan EV. The electric crossover initially outsold its combustion-powered sibling globally, but the decline in Macan sales and the sharp drop in EV deliveries have increased the importance of the 2027 model.

For now, the latest changes are focused on Europe, with some features expected to appear on the U.S.-spec Macan EV later. With the combustion-powered Macan no longer in production, Porsche is relying heavily on the electric model until the all-new Audi Q5-based ICE model arrives a couple of years from now.
