Toyota is giving the 2027 Camry a dramatically different cabin for the Chinese market while leaving its familiar exterior largely unchanged. The China-bound sedan gains a standard 15.6-inch touchscreen, upgraded materials and a long list of comfort features designed to give the Camry a more modern, technology-focused interior.
2027 Toyota Camry Gets a 15.6-Inch Touchscreen
The biggest change is inside the cabin, where a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen sits in the center of the dashboard. The display is standard across every trim and is powered by Qualcomm’s 8155 chip.
The exterior remains largely unchanged, allowing Toyota to retain the familiar Camry design while making the interior feel significantly newer.
Toyota has also upgraded the cabin with more soft-touch materials, moodier ambient lighting and crystal-like details around the shifter. A suede headliner adds another premium touch.
Higher Trims Add Heated, Cooled and Massaging Seats
Higher trim levels take the interior upgrades further. The front seats can offer heating, cooling and massage functions, while a 14-speaker JBL sound system and panoramic sunroof are also available.
Rear passengers receive heated and cooled seats, power-adjustable backrests and tablet charging ports, giving the rear cabin a greater focus on comfort.
China’s Camry Reflects a Broader Screen Trend
The large display in the Chinese-market Camry reflects a broader shift in the country’s automotive market toward bigger screens, faster processors and increasingly digital interiors.
Automakers in China have increasingly used large displays as a way to make familiar vehicles feel substantially newer. At the same time, regulators have begun questioning whether vehicles should return to using more physical buttons and knobs.
China Gets a More Tech-Focused Camry
Underneath the technology-focused cabin, the 2027 Chinese-market Camry remains the familiar sedan. Toyota’s approach instead centers on transforming the interior with a significantly larger display, upgraded materials and more comfort features.
For Chinese buyers, the extensive cabin technology gives the Camry a substantially newer feel while preserving the model’s familiar exterior.
