The Genesis G90 is preparing for a facelift, and a newly spotted prototype offers the clearest look yet at one of the luxury sedan’s most noticeable design changes. The camouflaged G90 was photographed driving in South Korea with its headlights illuminated, revealing a revised lighting design that includes a new element near the grille.
Genesis G90 Prototype Shows New Lighting Design
South Korean automotive media outlet Shorts Car spotted the camouflaged Genesis sedan on the road. Translated, the post said the G90 facelift had been seen with its headlights turned on for the first time, making the new lighting design visible through the camouflage.
The caption also described the prototype as Genesis’ flagship sedan and highlighted the facelifted G90’s “Wing Face” lamp lighting.
The front of the sedan remains covered, but the latest images show a slightly sleeker-looking front bumper compared with an earlier spy shot. The familiar Genesis daytime running light design also remains in place.
However, the latest sighting reveals a new V-shaped light strip positioned at the bottom of the area where the grille sits. The updated design also appears to incorporate lighting into the grille area alongside Genesis’ signature two-line lighting elements.
Genesis G90 Facelift Set for Q3 2026 Debut
The facelifted Genesis G90 is expected to debut in South Korea in the third quarter of 2026. The updated sedan is also expected to feature Level 3 autonomous driving technology along with its revised exterior design.
The latest prototype sighting provides another indication of how Genesis is updating the front end, with additional grille lighting joining the existing two-line lighting treatment. Chrome is also expected to remain part of the G90’s front-end design.
Long-Wheelbase G90 and Tech-Focused Interior
Alongside the revised exterior and upgraded autonomous driving technology for the South Korean market, the long-wheelbase version is expected to remain an important part of the G90’s appeal.
The sedan is also expected to retain its tech-focused interior. Until the Q3 launch, additional details about the facelifted Genesis G90 are expected to emerge.
