The Jeep Recon EV is getting a power increase ahead of its arrival, with Jeep raising its official output to 670 horsepower while revising the electric off-roader’s previously announced driving range.

Stellantis Brands Post Growth in a Volatile Year

Stellantis has recently benefited from rising sales during a volatile year in which many of its traditionally stronger-selling competitors have declined. During the first half of the year, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Fiat all recorded positive sales growth.

Jeep’s success has been driven by the Grand Wagoneer, but the brand is also preparing to introduce its first fully electric off-roader, the Recon. The vehicle represents one of the automaker’s most ambitious projects, and Jeep has continued moving forward while already revising some previously announced specifications.

Jeep Recon EV Receives a 20-HP Increase

When the Jeep Recon EV was first publicly introduced a few months ago, Jeep listed its output at 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. Those figures were already substantial for a vehicle expected to spend much of its time on trails.

Jeep has now updated the Recon’s official power rating to 670 horsepower, representing a 20-hp increase over the original announcement. With that output, the electric off-roader can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph.

More Power Comes With Reduced Range

The revised specifications also bring a reduction in driving range. The Jeep Recon EV was initially listed with 250 miles of range, but the updated figure is now 230 miles, a decrease of 20 miles.

The Moab variant is rated at 222 miles, while the Overland trim offers the longest range in the Recon lineup at 240 miles.

Fully Loaded Jeep Recon Reaches $78,125

Jeep has already launched the Recon configurator, allowing customers to build their own vehicle. A fully loaded Recon configured through the tool reached a price of $78,125.

According to a report by Carscoops, the high price has led some dealers to consider offering discounts. The report identified three examples: a dealership in Columbus is offering $720 off the Moab trim, while two dealerships in California are each offering $500 off the Jeep Recon.

With updated power and range figures now in place and its configurator already available, the Jeep Recon EV continues to take shape as Jeep prepares to launch its first fully electric off-roader.
