The 2027 Hyundai Tucson has made its public debut in South Korea, giving attendees a closer look at the fifth-generation SUV and revealing more details about its interior, technology, powertrains and safety features.
2027 Hyundai Tucson Interior Revealed
The fifth-generation Tucson, set for the 2027 model year, was displayed at a media event in South Korea on Friday. Until now, the redesigned SUV had primarily been seen in photos, but footage from the event provides a clearer look inside.
CarSceneKorea on YouTube recorded a walkaround of the new Tucson, showcasing the crossover’s cabin and various amenities.
One of the most noticeable features is a massive moonroof that extends from the front to the back of the cabin. It remains unclear whether the moonroof will be standard equipment or an optional extra.
The rear doors feature integrated window shades, while the rear seats are separated by a foldable central armrest with integrated cupholders. Rear passengers also receive just over an inch of additional headroom and slightly more legroom.
The trunk is said to provide close to one cubic foot of additional cargo capacity. When more room is needed, the rear seats can also be folded electronically.
More Technology Inside the 2027 Tucson
Hyundai had previously revealed parts of the front cabin in photos, but the new footage provides a clearer view of the interior layout and technology.
The 2027 Tucson can be equipped with either a 12.9-inch display or a larger 17-inch screen. It is also Hyundai’s first SUV to receive the company’s Pleos Connect infotainment system together with Gleo AI.
Physical buttons remain available for some basic functions, although there are fewer of them than in the outgoing model.
2027 Hyundai Tucson Engine and Hybrid Options
Hyundai also revealed details about the engines available for the next-generation Tucson during its public unveiling.
Buyers can choose between a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 190 horsepower or a hybrid setup producing 242 horsepower.
An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the power where it is needed. The hybrid can deliver fuel economy of as high as 41 miles per gallon.
New Safety and Convenience Features
The 2027 Hyundai Tucson also introduces several safety and convenience features. These include forward parking collision avoidance, pedal misapplication assistance and backup power that allows the vehicle’s doors to be unlocked even if the main power supply is cut off.
Another feature is called Stay Mode, which keeps the infotainment and climate control systems operating while the engine is dormant.
With its public debut in South Korea, the fifth-generation 2027 Hyundai Tucson has now been shown in greater detail, including its redesigned interior, expanded cabin space, new infotainment technology, engine choices and additional features.
