The 2027 Ford Edge L is receiving refreshed styling, new cabin technology and additional features for the Chinese market, where the SUV continues to carry the Edge name after its U.S. run ended in 2024. The updated three-row crossover will offer gasoline and hybrid powertrains, along with two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
Ford Edge L Gets Updated Exterior Styling
The refreshed Edge L features sharper LED headlights integrated into the front grille. The chrome strip and LED daytime running lights have also been redesigned, while the front bumper now includes side air vents.
The side profile remains unchanged, but buyers will have three wheel options: 19, 20 or 21 inches.
At the rear, the SUV adds a roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted brake light and a rear-window wiper. The taillights retain their continuous design, with the Edge logo embedded in the center.
Three-Row Cabin Adds Comfort and Technology
The 2027 Ford Edge L features a 2+2+3 seating configuration designed to create a first-class cabin experience. The seats include 14-point pneumatic massage, pneumatic leg rests and armrest storage.
Ford has also added handles to the B-pillars to make entering and exiting the vehicle easier.
Technology updates include the SYNC MAX intelligent connectivity system, featuring a built-in 8155 chip, a new user interface and CarPlay support.
Gasoline and Hybrid Powertrain Options
Ford will offer the Edge L in China with either a conventional gasoline engine or a hybrid powertrain. The gasoline version uses a non-electrified 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 248 horsepower.
The hybrid model pairs the same base gasoline engine with a hybrid system, increasing output to 270 horsepower.
Both versions will be available with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Ford Edge Nameplate Continues Outside the U.S.
Ford discontinued the Edge in the United States in 2024, but the nameplate remains in China, where the Edge L serves as a premium three-row SUV. The 2027 refresh brings updated styling, cabin features and powertrain choices to the model’s continued presence in that market.
