The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas arrives with a redesigned exterior, an upgraded interior, additional standard technology, and a revised trim lineup. The second-generation three-row SUV also carries significantly higher pricing across every trim level while adding more equipment as standard.
2027 Volkswagen Atlas Starts at a Higher Price
Volkswagen has introduced the redesigned 2027 Atlas with a starting price of $41,610 for front-wheel-drive models and $43,610 for versions equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive.
The company has also streamlined the lineup by discontinuing the Peak Edition and the standard SEL trim. Buyers can now choose from the SE, SE with Technology, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line models.
Expanded Standard Equipment Across the Lineup
Volkswagen has added a broad range of standard features to the Atlas lineup. Even the entry-level SE now includes a power liftgate, dual wireless phone charging, rear sunshades, front and rear parking sensors, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, a 12.9-inch infotainment display, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
The redesigned cabin also features standard real wood trim and ambient lighting.
The SE with Technology adds 20-inch wheels, illuminated Volkswagen badges at the front and rear, a 15-inch infotainment screen, a factory trailer hitch, and a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
The SEL R-Line includes Varenna leather seating, a head-up display, navigation, heated second-row seats, and 30-color ambient lighting. The range-topping SEL Premium R-Line adds Nappa leather upholstery, massage seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a surround-view camera.
Updated Turbocharged Engine Improves Efficiency
The redesigned Atlas continues to use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, now updated to Volkswagen’s EA888 evo5 version.
Output increases to 282 horsepower, up 13 horsepower from the previous model, while torque is rated at 258 lb-ft. Volkswagen says the revised engine delivers improved responsiveness and greater efficiency.
EPA fuel economy ratings are 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models. Atlas models equipped with 4Motion all-wheel drive are rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined, representing an improvement of up to 2 mpg over the previous Atlas.
Availability and Options
The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas will be offered in both front-wheel-drive and 4Motion all-wheel-drive configurations, depending on the selected trim.
Destination charges are $1,525 for every model. Optional features continue to include captain’s chairs, a panoramic sunroof, and a black wheel package.
With more standard equipment, updated technology, a redesigned cabin, and improved efficiency, the 2027 Volkswagen Atlas enters the market with a simplified lineup and higher prices across the range.
