Hennessey Teases Project Overlord
Hennessey, the American performance company founded by John Hennessey in the early 1990s, has long focused on what it describes as “making fast cars faster.” While the company is widely known for tuning high-performance vehicles, it also continues to build its own cars.
Its latest teaser, shared on the company’s official Instagram account, previews what appears to be the rear of a new vehicle. The animation shows a taillight transitioning into a partial view of the rear quarter panel before ending with the date August 3, 2026. The accompanying caption reads, “The mission defines the machine.”
The teaser also features the song “Diamonds Are Forever,” while the Instagram post includes the hashtag Project Overlord, which may indicate the name of the upcoming model.
Report Points to a New Engine and Gated Manual Gearbox
According to The Supercar Blog, Hennessey has developed an all-new engine for the upcoming hypercar, which is expected to be paired with the company’s latest 6-speed gated gearbox.
The report says additional technical details remain undisclosed. It also notes that the new vehicle’s design is calmer and more beautiful than another Hennessey creation.
Venom F5-M Shares the Same Transmission
Hennessey recently introduced the Venom F5-M during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The hypercar produces 2,000 horsepower and is equipped with the same 6-speed gated transmission referenced for Project Overlord.
The Venom F5-M is limited to just 12 units, making it one of the company’s most exclusive models.
With an August 3, 2026, date now appearing in Hennessey’s teaser, the company has signaled that more details about Project Overlord are expected to be revealed soon, while key specifications remain under wraps.
