The official EPA ratings for the 2027 Volvo EX60 have been released, showing that the launch-model EX60 P10 AWD delivers a maximum driving range of 330 miles on a full charge. That result is eight miles higher than Volvo’s original estimate of 322 miles, giving the all-electric SUV a modest improvement ahead of its market launch.
Official EPA Rating Exceeds Volvo’s Initial Estimate
When Volvo introduced the all-electric EX60 earlier this year, the company said the model would eventually offer up to 400 miles of range with a higher-spec version. At launch, however, buyers of the EX60 P10 AWD were told to expect 322 miles on a full charge.
The newly released EPA figures now certify the 2027 Volvo EX60 P10 AWD at 330 miles when equipped with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels. That represents an increase of eight miles, or approximately 2.5%, over Volvo’s original estimate.
Wheel Size Has a Direct Impact on Driving Range
The EPA data also shows that wheel choice affects the EX60’s driving range.
- The EX60 P10 AWD achieves 330 miles with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels.
- The same model delivers 312 miles when fitted with 22-inch wheels.
The pattern continues elsewhere in the lineup. The rear-wheel-drive EX60 P6 is rated at 307 miles with the smaller wheels, while versions equipped with 22-inch wheels are rated at 295 miles.
Longest-Range Volvo EV in the U.S.
With its EPA-certified figures, the EX60 becomes Volvo’s longest-range electric vehicle available in the United States.
The SUV is built on the new SPA3 platform and features an 800-volt electrical system. Volvo says the vehicle can add up to 165 miles of driving range in 10 minutes when connected to a compatible DC fast charger. It is also the first Volvo sold in the United States with a built-in NACS charging port, allowing direct access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without requiring an adapter.
BMW iX3 Delivers Higher EPA-Based Range
While the EX60’s certified range improves on Volvo’s initial estimate, BMW’s latest competitor posts higher EPA-based figures.
The 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive is rated for up to 434 miles in its most efficient configuration with 20-inch summer tires. Other configurations are rated between 383 and 399 miles, depending on wheel and tire selection.
Based on the most efficient versions of both SUVs, BMW holds a 104-mile advantage over the EPA-certified 330-mile Volvo EX60 P10 AWD.
Higher-Range EX60 Version Planned
Volvo has also previewed a higher-spec EX60 P12 AWD with a claimed driving range of 400 miles. The company has not yet released official EPA figures for that version.
The latest EPA certification gives the 2027 Volvo EX60 a stronger launch figure than originally projected while positioning it as the brand’s longest-range electric vehicle currently offered in the U.S. market.
