Mitsubishi Gallery has officially opened its first U.S. location as the automaker introduces a new retail concept designed to complement traditional dealerships. The showroom offers shoppers a museum-like environment where they can explore vehicles, speak with product specialists, and begin the buying process before completing their purchase through a nearby dealership.
Mitsubishi Opens First Gallery Showroom in Tennessee
The new Mitsubishi Gallery opened on July 30 at the Century Farms retail development in Antioch, Tennessee, near Nashville. Developed in partnership with City Auto Mitsubishi, the location marks the first major retail milestone under the company’s Momentum 2030 business plan.
The Gallery allows visitors to browse Mitsubishi’s latest vehicle lineup, including the upcoming Nissan Leaf-based Eclipse, explore available inventory, speak with product specialists, and begin the purchase process through Mitsubishi’s ClickShop online platform.
Final vehicle purchases, deliveries, and servicing continue to be handled by City Auto Mitsubishi’s nearby full-service dealership. Mitsubishi says the Gallery is designed to enhance, rather than replace, the traditional dealership experience.
A New Retail Approach for Mainstream Buyers
According to Mitsubishi, it is the first mass-market automaker in the United States to introduce this type of immersive showroom within a high-traffic retail destination. The company says the concept brings a retail experience more commonly associated with premium brands to mainstream vehicle shoppers.
Mitsubishi is not alone in exploring alternative retail formats. As competition increases, many dealerships are returning to the more personalized customer service that was common during the 1990s to help distinguish themselves.
Carvana also tested a different retail model for its Stellantis brands through “playground” stores. Those locations replaced traditional salespeople with QR codes and themed display areas, allowing customers to browse Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler vehicles independently before completing their purchase online instead of in-store.
Momentum 2030 Drives Mitsubishi’s U.S. Strategy
The Mitsubishi Gallery is one element of the automaker’s broader U.S. expansion strategy under Momentum 2030. The company plans to introduce a new or significantly updated model every year through the end of the decade while expanding its lineup with gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles.
The plan also includes the upcoming reveal of a new Montero/Pajero, which is scheduled for September 2.
The opening of the first Mitsubishi Gallery represents a key step in the automaker’s long-term U.S. strategy, combining a new retail experience with its existing dealership network while supporting future vehicle launches under the Momentum 2030 plan.
