Cadillac is expanding its ultra-luxury customization approach to the Escalade IQ with the new Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ program, allowing select customers to create highly personalized electric SUVs. The first special model will be displayed at The Quail motorsports gathering later this week as part of Monterey Car Week.
Cadillac Expands Escalade IQ Customization
The Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ program follows the approach Cadillac introduced with the Celestiq, offering customers extensive options to create a vehicle tailored to their individual tastes.
Customers can choose from more than 160 exterior colors and finishes, including solids, metallics, tri-coats, frosts and mattes. The interior palette expands to as many as 44 colors.
Each vehicle will be hand-painted and hand-built by artisans. The bespoke Escalade IQs will also receive a unique VIN and serialized builder’s badge, while a personal concierge support service will assist clients throughout the customization process.
“Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ gives clients the chance to create a vehicle that reflects their individual taste by working alongside expert Cadillac designers,” said Kristian Aquilina, vice president, Global Cadillac. “We’re extending the hand-built Celestiq experience to deliver true customization capabilities for a select number of Escalade IQ clients.”
Escalade IQ Keeps Its Standard Performance
Despite their extensive customization, Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ models will retain the range and performance specifications of lesser models.
The electric motors produce up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, allowing the Escalade IQ to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The SUV can travel up to 465 miles on a full charge, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs on sale.
Customization Adds Nearly $55,000
The standard Cadillac Escalade IQ already carries a starting price of $127,405 before options. The price can exceed $150,000 for the top Escalade IQL trim, which is the longer version of the standard IQ.
The Curated by Cadillac package adds another $54,995 to the vehicle’s standard price. That means a customized Escalade IQ can cost more than $200,000.
While that price represents a significant premium, it remains half the price of a Celestiq, the only other Cadillac that can be comparably customized.
Hand-Built Escalade IQs Begin With 2027 Model Year
All Curated by Cadillac Escalade IQ models will be hand-built at Cadillac’s Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan, beginning with the 2027 model year.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027. Cadillac also expects these customized models to require longer production times than standard Escalade IQs.
Bespoke Luxury Expands Beyond Rolls-Royce and Bentley
Low-volume, bespoke luxury vehicles are increasingly being offered by brands positioned below Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Custom-built vehicles, once primarily associated with those prestigious British carmakers, are becoming available from other luxury brands for customers willing to pay for extensive personalization.
Earlier this month, Range Rover said its bespoke SUVs effectively have no price limit. Genesis is also planning one-off builds for the upcoming GV90.
These custom finishes and specifications can increase the price of a standard vehicle by 50% or more as collectors and discerning clients seek vehicles that offer a more personal expression of luxury.
