The Marsien GT marks the next chapter for Marc Philipp Gemballa, who is continuing his father Uwe Gemballa’s legacy with a more road-focused evolution of the Marsien off-road supercar. Limited to just 30 examples, the Marsien GT will bring total Marsien production to 70 cars as a tribute to Uwe Gemballa’s 70th birthday.
Continuing the Gemballa Legacy
Uwe Gemballa became known for some of the most extreme builds in the aftermarket scene through his company, Gemballa. The Porsche 911 was his favorite platform, although he later worked on other models as well. He continued creating extreme builds until his murder in 2010, while the company he founded has continued operating.
In 2018, Marc Philipp Gemballa began pursuing his own path while continuing his father’s legacy. He founded Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH and teased his first car in 2020.
Two years later, the Marsien arrived as a tribute to the Porsche 959 Dakar rally racer from the 1980s. Based on the 992 Turbo, the off-road supercar quickly found buyers, with all 40 examples sold in practically no time.
Marsien GT Brings a Road-Focused Evolution
Marc Philipp Gemballa is now taking the Marsien in a new direction with the Marsien GT. Rather than simply lowering the original model, the company has completely re-engineered the car for more road-oriented performance.
The Marsien GT will be even rarer than the original, with production limited to 30 cars. Combined with the 40 original Marsiens, total production will be capped at 70 vehicles as a tribute to Uwe Gemballa’s 70th birthday.
Custom Suspension and Active Aerodynamics
The Marsien GT continues to use the 992 Turbo as its basis, but its suspension is now a bespoke system developed with KW Automotive. The setup features electronically controlled dampers with electromagnetic valves, along with a front-axle lift system designed to help the car clear steeper ramps.
The GT also receives an enhanced aerodynamic system focused on on-road performance. Active front louvers and a rear wing can move to provide optimal grip.
Underneath, the car features a flat carbon-fiber underbelly designed to channel airflow toward the more prominent diffusers.
RUF-Tuned Engine Makes Up to More Than 900 HP
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that has been modified by RUF. The engine produces 830 hp and 686 lb-ft of torque, significantly more than the 992 Turbo S’ 711 hp and 590 lb-ft ratings.
For customers seeking even more power, the company will increase output to “over 900 hp.” The exhaust system is a bespoke component produced by Akrapovic.
Marsien GT Price Starts at €770,000
The Marsien GT carries a price of €770,000, approximately $888,300, net of all taxes, duties and shipping for the build itself.
Buyers must also provide a 992 Turbo. A brand-new example currently costs another $270,300, although customers who already own one can use it as the basis for the build.
Marsien GT to Debut at Pebble Beach
The Marsien GT will make its first public appearance at Pebble Beach from August 13 through the end of Monterey Car Week on the 16th.
With only 30 Marsien GTs planned, the Pebble Beach appearance will offer the public an opportunity to see the new road-oriented supercar up close before the limited production run is completed.
