The 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Homage by Niels van Roij Design is now listed on Broad Arrow Auctions, offering a modern one-off tribute to one of the most iconic shooting brake designs ever created. Built from a 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the unique model combines classic inspiration with extensive hand-crafted bodywork.

A Modern Tribute to a Classic Shooting Brake

The shooting brake remains one of the most distinctive classic automotive designs, blending the sporty profile of a two-door coupe with the extended, sloping rear cargo area of a station wagon. While only a small number of cars throughout history were purpose-built as shooting brakes, the design has largely been consigned to the history books.

Niels van Roij Design has revived that concept with a one-off creation inspired by the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Shooting Brake, which was commissioned through Chinetti Motors.

The 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Homage was built for one client who exclusively approached Niels van Roij Design to bring his vision to life. The finished vehicle is now listed on Broad Arrow Auctions.

More Than 15,000 Hours of Design and Craftsmanship

The design firm used a 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano as the foundation for the project. Its standard 612 hp 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 was left unchanged, with the work focused entirely on transforming the car’s design.

According to the listing, the final result required more than 15,000 hours of design exploration, digital surfacing, CAD engineering and hand execution.

All exterior panels except for the doors were newly hand-formed in aluminum, representing a significant design and engineering undertaking.

Classic Details Return in the Daytona Shooting Brake Homage

One of the key design features from the original Daytona also returned for the modern homage: electrically operated butterfly side windows. The feature was achieved using precision-milled aluminum hinges with drilled detailing.

The butterfly doors swing upward to reveal the luggage compartment. Inside, the cabin features cognac leather-trimmed seats, dashboard, door panels, headlining and luggage bay.

Secondary interior surfaces are finished in Carbon Fiber, replacing the walnut surfaces used in the original 1972 model.

A One-Off Ferrari-Based Creation Heads to Auction

The car is listed with 27,2217 miles and carries a listed price ranging from more than $500,000 up to $753,000.

The 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Homage is not the first unique automotive project from Niels van Roij Design. The company has previously created a homage to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB “Breadvan,” as well as the Henry II Corniche Shooting Brake and the Rolls-Royce Silver Specter Shooting Brake.

Now heading to auction, the 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Homage stands as another one-off interpretation of the historic shooting brake form, combining the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano platform with a design inspired by the 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Shooting Brake.
