A 448-mile 2005 Porsche Carrera GT has received an extensive makeover through Porsche’s bespoke Sonderwunsch program, creating a one-of-one configuration that is now up for sale.
A Carrera GT Reimagined by Porsche
The Porsche Carrera GT is regarded as one of the purest supercar experiences ever put into production, making modifications that stray from OEM specifications particularly controversial among enthusiasts. In this case, however, the owner turned to Porsche itself for a highly personalized transformation.
The Carrera GT was sent back to Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program for what the company calls a recommissioning project. The goal was essentially to return the car to as close to brand-new condition as possible, with the project involving a complete rebuild across the vehicle.
Amethyst Purple Carbon Fiber Exterior
According to the listing posted on the duPont Registry, the 448-mile Carrera GT was stripped down in Stuttgart to its bare carbon monocoque. Its body panels were then repainted in a distinctive exposed Amethyst Purple-tinted carbon fiber colorway.
Several exterior components were also redone in Slate Grey, including the headlight cleaners, wheels, engine cover, side blinkers, grilles and badging.
Slate Grey and Speed Yellow Interior
The interior received an equally extensive overhaul. Slate Grey Alcantara was combined with Speed Yellow stitching, with the contrasting stitching appearing on the doors, steering wheel, lower dashboard and A-pillar.
Additional interior components were replaced with Matte Carbon material, including the Carrera GT’s iconic wooden manual shift knob.
Porsche Carrera GT Engine Rebuilt to Zero-Mile Condition
The work extended beyond the car’s appearance. Porsche also overhauled the engine, bringing it to what is described as an astonishing “zero-mile condition,” essentially allowing the engine to perform like new.
Asking Price Remains Undisclosed
The duPont Registry listing does not disclose an asking price, instead directing interested buyers to “call for the price.”
Carrera GTs are already among the most expensive modern classics available, with market value ranging well above the $1.5 million mark. The unique purple configuration and complete Sonderwunsch rebuild could make this example particularly notable, but its final value remains to be seen.
