Rumors of a Ford Bronco pickup continue to circulate, with a recent report suggesting Ford may not have abandoned the idea. There is still no official word from Ford, but a new rendering from digital artist Theottle offers a detailed look at what a Bronco with a pickup bed could look like.
The Ford Bronco Pickup Rendering
Theottle’s rendering presents a Bronco pickup that looks less like a radical concept and more like a natural extension of the existing four-door SUV. Unlike SoFlo Customs’ 6×6 version, the design avoids unusual proportions and instead appears to retain the familiar Bronco shape.
From the front, the rendered pickup closely follows the Bronco’s established design, including its upright grille, round LED headlights, chunky bumper and distinctive fender flares. From the A-pillar forward, there is little to distinguish it from the regular SUV.
The biggest change comes behind the rear doors, where the Bronco’s cargo area transitions into a short pickup bed. The proportions remain compact, while the design retains the squared-off greenhouse and what appears to be a removable roof.
At the rear, a large BRONCO wordmark stretches across the tailgate, with vertical taillights echoing the SUV’s signature design. A matte black bumper and chunky off-road tires complete the pickup’s rugged appearance.
Ranger DNA Could Shape a Bronco Pickup
If Ford were to approve a Bronco pickup, the vehicle could draw heavily from the Ranger rather than requiring an entirely new platform. The Bronco already shares its T6 bones with the Ranger, meaning a pickup version would be more of a remix than a ground-up project.
The powertrain lineup could therefore include familiar engines. The possibilities mentioned include the 300-hp turbo four, the 330-hp twin-turbo V6 and potentially the 418-hp twin-turbo V6 from the Bronco Raptor.
A hybrid powertrain could also become an option. Ford is reportedly developing a Bronco Hybrid for 2027, and the same setup could potentially make its way into a pickup version down the line.
What Would Happen to the Ranger?
A Bronco pickup would create a clear question for Ford because it and the Ranger would compete for space in the midsize pickup market. The two models would need distinct identities.
The Ranger could remain focused on its workhorse roots, while a Bronco pickup could target buyers interested in adventure, including overlanding, off-roading and weekend activities.
For now, the Ford Bronco pickup remains unconfirmed. There has been no official word from Ford, leaving Theottle’s convincing rendering as a visual interpretation of what the rumored model could look like.
