A 2004 Ferrari Enzo finished in the factory’s only matte paint specification is now listed on RM Sotheby’s, giving collectors a look at an exceptionally rare example with ties to the Brunei Royal Family and just 3,567 miles since new.
A One-of-One Matte Ferrari Enzo
The Ferrari Enzo is regarded as one of the most influential supercars ever made. It was among the early models that ushered in a new era of post-90s high performance, combining the best of early-2000s technology and performance while also celebrating Ferrari’s 60th anniversary and carrying the name of the brand’s founder.
While every Ferrari Enzo carries significant collector status and a high price tag, this particular example stands apart. It is finished in Matte Nero Opaco, making it the only Enzo ordered with matte paint directly from the factory.
The car was originally commissioned by a member of the Brunei Royal Family, whose collection is known for special one-off vehicles.
Exclusive Exterior and Interior Specification
The Enzo’s interior was configured to complement its distinctive exterior. It features Nero leather along with Rosso gauges.
The rare Ferrari was originally intended to remain at the Royal Family’s residence in London. It was occasionally spotted on the streets of Hampstead, Mayfair and Knightsbridge before being shipped to the Asia-Pacific region.
$127,000 in Work at Carrozzeria Zanasi
In 2022, the Ferrari Enzo returned to Europe and was sent to Carrozzeria Zanasi, a facility where Ferrari Hypercars and special-edition models are reworked.
The work cost $127,000 and essentially replaced anything on the Enzo that required attention.
Ferrari Enzo Has 3,567 Miles
The car was later shipped to Canada, where it has remained well-preserved. It currently shows just 3,567 miles since new.
Servicing has been carried out by both Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo and Ferrari of Vancouver. The most recent major component replacements took place in 2024 and included the clutch, both fuel pumps and the left-side valve cover gasket.
Ferrari Enzo Value Could Reach the Top of Its Range
Ferrari Enzo models cost between $7.7 million and $13 million, depending on specification and condition.
RM Sotheby’s has not listed a price for this 2004 example. However, the source notes that its rarity and storied ownership could place it toward the higher side of that price bracket.
