The Lexus LBX Morizo RR is getting a more aggressive development version, with new spy shots revealing revised seats and several exterior changes as the prototype continues testing at the Nurburgring.
New Seats Highlight the Interior Changes
The interior remains largely unchanged from the current Morizo RR, but the prototype features new bucket seats with more pronounced bolsters. The one-piece seatbacks also have openings that could accommodate harness straps, while suede inserts are designed to help keep occupants from sliding around.
The new seatbacks appear noticeably thinner than those in the standard Morizo RR. That could make the seats lighter while also making them better suited to holding passengers in place and potentially supporting harnesses.
An automatic transmission shifter is also visible inside the prototype. That suggests the more hardcore version will be available with the 8-speed automatic transmission offered in the current Morizo RR and GR Corolla.
Lexus LBX Morizo RR Gets More Aggressive Aero
The latest spy shots show the prototype alongside the current production Morizo RR, making the exterior differences easier to identify.
At the front, the prototype has an additional splitter that should at least reduce lift, while potentially adding some downforce. Subtle side-skirt extensions continue the design line from the new front splitter.
The fender flares remain covered in vinyl camouflage, but they do not appear to have changed dramatically. The prototype and current Morizo RR also share the same wheels, suggesting no visible changes to the car’s width or wheel dimensions.
The rear bumper is also covered, although it does not appear to show significant changes compared with the current model. The rear wing, however, is substantially larger and features clearly visible cutouts for airflow, indicating a more functional design.
More Performance Changes Could Be Coming
The prototype is also expected to receive changes beyond its visual updates. The suspension will probably be revised, while weight will probably be reduced.
The roof is covered in camouflage, raising the possibility that it has been changed to carbon fiber, as seen on some special editions of the GR Corolla.
More power is also possible for the Lexus LBX Morizo RR prototype, although the current testing does not confirm whether an engine upgrade will be included.
