The Genesis GV70 could be the next model to receive the brand’s full blacked-out treatment. While Genesis has not officially confirmed the model, a report from The Korean Car Blog says a darker version of the luxury SUV is in development.
The GV70 Could Join Genesis’ Prestige Black Models
Genesis currently offers its “Prestige Black” trim for the 2026 G80, G90, GV80 and GV80 Coupe in North America. The treatment centers on a monochromatic design, combining black exterior details, black alloy wheels and a dark-themed interior.
The GV70 is not currently included in that lineup. If the report is accurate, adding the GV70 could expand Genesis’ existing black-focused strategy to one of its smaller vehicles rather than simply introducing another appearance package.
The GV70 Already Has a Darker Prestige Graphite Trim
The potential GV70 Black would not be the first darker version of the SUV for U.S. buyers. Genesis has already announced the Prestige Graphite trim for the 2027 GV70, giving the model a darker and more performance-focused appearance.
The Prestige Graphite edition features 21-inch dark metallic alloy wheels, red brake calipers, gloss-black mirror caps, dark chrome and gloss-black exterior accents, carbon-fiber interior trim and exclusive exterior colors.
If the reported GV70 Black reaches the U.S., it could coexist with the Prestige Graphite. The Black version could provide a more comprehensive monochromatic treatment, while Prestige Graphite would take a sportier approach.
U.S. Availability Remains Unconfirmed
A U.S. launch of the GV70 Black would give buyers another way to personalize the SUV without moving up to the larger GV80. The special edition could provide another appearance-focused option for buyers seeking a more exclusive version of the model.
For now, however, there is no word on pricing, production numbers or when the reported GV70 Black could arrive.
