The refreshed Genesis G90 has been spotted testing in public with heavy camouflage, revealing little about its exterior changes but offering a brief look at an interior that appears to blend digital technology with traditional gauges.

Genesis G90 Prototype Shows Three Round Gauges

A CarBuzz photographer captured a fleeting view of the prototype’s dashboard, where at least three round gauge clusters can be seen behind the steering wheel.

The center cluster appears to be a speedometer, while the functions of the other two remain unclear. The gauge on the right could be a tachometer, although its design may suggest another gauge within it, potentially a clock with hands or an efficiency display for miles per gallon or battery usage if the sedan is offered as a hybrid.

Little can be determined from the gauge on the left. Readouts such as engine temperature and fuel quantity are often positioned on the left side of instrument clusters, but the prototype’s photographed display does not reveal its specific function.

The silver bezels also appear to have visible depth and sit slightly into the dashboard, suggesting the gauges could be physical rather than simulated graphics on a digital screen. However, it remains possible that the instruments are digital displays housed within individual bezels.

G90 Interior Combines Gauges With a Large Display

Whether the gauges are digital or analog, their appearance is similar to the layout shown by the Genesis X Gran Equator Concept from 2025. That concept featured four prominent gauges positioned in the center of the dashboard instead of a large touchscreen.

The G90 prototype takes a different approach. Its round gauges appear to complement rather than replace a large landscape-oriented center display.

If the layout seen in the prototype reaches production, Genesis would be combining traditional-looking instrumentation with the large digital screen expected in a modern luxury sedan.

Exterior Changes Point to a Mid-Cycle Refresh

The interior is not the only area receiving attention. Despite its extensive camouflage, the prototype is technically a mid-cycle refresh and appears to feature a redesigned front end.

The large, pointy grille of the current G90 appears to have been replaced by a smaller pointy grille, creating additional space for a lower grille in the front fascia.

Along the sides, the camouflage may obscure little more than the existing bodywork. The roofline and beltline appear unchanged from the current sedan, while the door and quarter panels also look the same unless new body moldings are hidden beneath the covering.

The sloped rear section likewise appears largely unchanged, although new taillights could be part of the update. There are also indications of turn-down exhaust tips beneath the rear fascia, suggesting the prototype is not electric.

Current G90 Powertrain

The current Genesis G90 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine. With the optional 48V e-Supercharger setup, it produces 409 horsepower.

Whether that powertrain remains in the refreshed flagship sedan has yet to be determined.

Why the Interior Design Could Matter

Large digital displays have become common across luxury vehicles, but the approach can also make interiors feel similar from one brand to another. The G90 prototype’s combination of gauges and a large screen could give Genesis another way to distinguish its flagship sedan.

The Genesis X Gran Equator Concept already demonstrated the brand’s interest in prominent traditional-style gauges, while ultra-exclusive hypercars such as the Bugatti Tourbillon are also keeping gauge clusters alive.

If Genesis follows through with the gauge-and-screen arrangement seen in this G90 prototype, the design could help the luxury division further differentiate the sedan from interiors dominated almost entirely by digital screens.
