The 2027 GMC Savana continues a formula that has remained virtually unchanged for more than 32 years, while GM has made one notable update for the new model year: a touch-screen infotainment system. The utility van remains available in multiple configurations, engine choices and packages designed for different work and passenger needs.

2027 GMC Savana Stays With Its Longstanding Formula

With today’s personal mobility standards, it is rare for a vehicle to remain largely the same for so long. In some cases, however, an original formula works well enough that an automaker continues selling it without major changes to avoid losing buyers it has built over the years.

That approach applies to the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana, which have served as utility workhorse vans for more than 32 years. While competitors have been remodeled and modernized over the years, the Savana has remained virtually the same.

The van was previously bare-bones, but GM addressed that for the 2027 model year by adding a touch-screen infotainment system.

GMC Savana Variants and Engine Options

The Savana may be simple by default, but buyers can configure it for specific needs. It is offered in Cargo and Passenger variants.

The Cargo version is available as a 2500 or 3500 with either a regular or extended wheelbase. The Passenger body can be configured as a 2500, 3500 or 3500 Extended. Buyers can also choose between two main trim levels: LS and LT.

The standard engine is a 4.3-liter V6 producing 276 hp and 298 lb-ft of torque. A $1,895 option upgrades the van to a 6.6-liter V8 producing 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, with a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lbs.

Both engine options are paired with the same GM 8-speed automatic transmission.

2027 GMC Savana Pricing

The 2027 GMC Savana Cargo starts at $45,095, including a $2,395 destination charge. That destination charge is $500 higher than the outgoing model. The top-spec Cargo version costs $49,845.

For the Passenger variant, pricing starts at $50,945 for the 2500 LS and reaches $53,290 for the 2500 LT. The 3500 versions start at $52,145 for the LS and $54,090 for the LT.

The 3500 Extended starts at $52,945 for the LS, while the LT costs $54,890.

Available Packages and Seating Configurations

Because the Savana serves different utilitarian purposes, buyers can choose from several factory and dealer options.

The Enhanced Convenience Package costs $3,250 and adds the V8 engine, keyless entry with remote start, heavy-duty trailering equipment, a tilt-adjustable steering column and cruise control.

The Safety Package costs $3,105 and includes V8 Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Park Assist.

The Savana Express Passenger comes standard with 12 seats, while a 15-seat configuration is available for $475.

The Cargo model comes standard with one or two seats, while the $2,055 crew van package adds a five-occupant layout.

With its longstanding design, multiple configurations, available V8 power and new touch-screen infotainment system, the 2027 GMC Savana continues the same utility-focused formula while offering buyers additional ways to configure the van for their needs.
