Lamborghini has unveiled a one-off Temerario Tricolore at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week, giving its latest supercar a distinctive interpretation of the Italian flag. The special model combines green, white and red accents with deep blue bodywork, reflecting Italy’s national sporting color.
A Bolder Take on the Tricolore Design
The Temerario Tricolore follows Lamborghini’s previous Tricolore special edition, the Gallardo Tricolore LP550-2, which debuted 15 years ago. Unlike that model, the new Temerario uses significantly more blue in its exterior design.
Blue was selected as Italy’s national sporting color by the House of Savoy, the royal dynasty that unified Italy in 1862. The dynasty’s shade of blue, officially known as Savoy Azure, dates as far back as 1366 and was retained after Italy became a republic.
The Temerario Tricolore features a two-tone exterior combining a deep blue finish called Blu Marinus Shiny with Bianco Monocerus white. Glossy Nero Noctis black is used on the wing mirrors, wheels, engine cover, glasshouse and diffuser.
While the Gallardo Tricolore had a cleaner appearance from different angles, the Temerario’s two-tone design emphasizes its shape. The darker lower section makes the car appear even lower and sharper than the standard model.
907-HP Hybrid Powertrain Remains Unchanged
Unlike the previous Tricolore, the Temerario Tricolore does not receive unique mechanical specifications. The car is mechanically identical to other Temerario models, using a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with three electric motors.
The combined power output is 907 horsepower, with the powertrain sending that output to all four wheels.
The previous Tricolore, created to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification, was based on a rear-wheel-drive Gallardo with a six-speed manual or E-Gear transmission and slightly less power than the regular LP 560-4.
Custom Interior Completes the Tricolore Treatment
Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalization service also extends the Tricolore theme into the cabin. Nero Ade upholstery is paired with Rosso Alala red stitching, which matches the red brake calipers.
The rear cabin trim features a silhouette of the supercar, while Tricolore lettering has been embroidered into the door panels.
Lamborghini Highlights Bespoke Personalization
The Temerario Tricolore follows two other Temerarios revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, providing another opportunity for Lamborghini to showcase its bespoke personalization capabilities.
Through Ad Personam, Lamborghini aims to demonstrate the broad scope of customization available to potential buyers. The personalization comes on top of a vehicle that already starts around $400,000 before additional options are selected.
The Temerario Tricolore ultimately places the emphasis on distinctive styling and extensive personalization while retaining the standard Temerario’s 907-horsepower hybrid powertrain.
