The 2027 Chevrolet Traverse High Country is getting a new look that moves the flagship trim away from its traditional cowboy-inspired styling. Chevrolet says the Traverse will be the first model to receive the new High Country treatment before the design spreads to the freshly redesigned Silverado 1500.
A More Athletic High Country Design
The High Country trim remains largely unchanged from last year on the Traverse, with 22-inch wheels and premium upholstery still included as standard equipment. For 2027, however, Chevrolet has revised several design details to give the near-flagship trim a more modern appearance. The sport-styled RS remains more expensive.
The headlights and grille trim now feature a satin-finished “Tritan” material with a slightly burnished appearance. The wheels also receive a new design while retaining gloss-black and machined surfaces for a two-tone look.
Inside, the Traverse High Country will be offered in a single color combination featuring black seat upholstery with Natural Tan accents. The tan color also appears along the edges of the seat belts.
Debossed front headrests carry the new High Country logo, replacing the previous model year’s mountain peak design with a more abstract nested-diamond badge. Genuine wood trim remains standard.
Less Cowboy Styling, More Modern Details
Chevrolet says the changes are intended to make the Traverse High Country feel more athletic and modern. The updated design is noticeably less focused on the traditional “country” appearance associated with earlier High Country models.
The 2027 Traverse High Country does away with elaborate stitching and charred brand marks, while its tan accent color is less saddle-toned than in previous versions.
More Standard Technology for 2027
The High Country also gains additional features for the 2027 model year. Along with the RS, the Traverse High Country now comes standard with a cabin view camera that allows parents to check on children or cargo in the second- and third-row seats.
A surround-view camera system with a built-in drive recorder is also standard. Owners who want to save recorded footage must provide their own USB device.
The Traverse High Country otherwise carries over its existing technology package, including a 17.7-inch center display that is also standard on the base model, Bose premium audio and optional Super Cruise advanced driver assistance.
Traverse High Country Keeps Its Spacious Cabin
The Traverse remains among the most spacious vehicles in its class, offering up to 98 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity. That figure gives the crossover a run for its money against the larger Tahoe.
Why the 2027 Traverse Update Matters
Midsize three-row crossovers are an important segment in the American auto industry, and Chevrolet’s decision to make a light update to the Traverse for 2027 could help the model remain relevant as new rivals enter the market.
The segment is currently dominated by the Ford Explorer in terms of sales, while the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride are highlighted for value and quality. The importance of the High Country rebrand itself remains uncertain, but the more modern design elements could help the Traverse build additional sales momentum.
For 2027, Chevrolet is giving the Traverse High Country a refreshed identity while retaining its core equipment, spacious interior and existing technology lineup.
