The 2027 Toyota RAV4 is receiving a series of updates designed to improve its charging capabilities, off-road performance, and everyday convenience. The latest model introduces upgraded suspension components for Woodland trims, faster charging technology for plug-in hybrid models, and additional equipment across the lineup. However, these improvements come alongside higher prices for both hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

2027 Toyota RAV4 Prices Increase Across the Lineup

The 2027 Toyota RAV4 hybrid lineup starts at $32,300, excluding a $1,595 destination charge, compared with $1,450 for the 2026 model. The entry-level plug-in hybrid starts at $42,100 before destination fees.

These starting prices represent increases of $400 for the hybrid and $600 for the plug-in hybrid. Including the destination charge, the minimum prices reach $33,895 for the hybrid and $43,695 for the plug-in hybrid.

Toyota has also expanded the Remote Connect trial period from one year to five years. Additional improvements include redesigned all-weather floor and cargo mats intended to address previous fitment issues, particularly on the left side of vehicles equipped with a JBL subwoofer.

Woodland Models Get More Ground Clearance

The 2027 RAV4 Woodland models, available in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations, receive updated springs, shock absorbers, and jounce bumpers.

These suspension changes increase ground clearance to 9.1 inches, compared with 8.5 inches in the 2026 Woodland models. Other RAV4 trims offer 8.1 inches of ground clearance, while the GR Sport sits at 7.5 inches.

All 2027 RAV4 trims also receive a rearview camera washer as standard equipment.

Plug-In Hybrid Models Receive Faster Charging

Toyota has introduced several charging improvements across the 2027 RAV4 plug-in hybrid lineup. Every PHEV now comes with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing access to Tesla Superchargers and supporting Level 3 DC fast charging.

The charging port has moved to the driver’s side of the vehicle. Toyota has also upgraded the onboard Level 1 and Level 2 AC charger, increasing its maximum charging capacity to 11 kW.

The RAV4 plug-in hybrid SE offers up to 52 miles of all-electric driving range.

AWD Models Get Updated Off-Road Technology

For 2027, all-wheel-drive RAV4 models receive Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select off-road technology, replacing the previous Trail mode.

Snow mode has also been relocated to the drive mode selection button, which provides access to Normal, Eco, Sport, and Custom settings. The button is positioned beneath the driver’s-side center HVAC vent.

However, the 2027 images still show Trail and Snow mode labels on a separate selector switch beneath the passenger-side HVAC vent.

2027 Toyota RAV4 Powertrain Specifications Remain Unchanged

Toyota has retained the RAV4’s existing hybrid powertrain configurations for the new model year. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system continues to produce a combined 222 horsepower in front-wheel-drive models and 229 horsepower in all-wheel-drive versions.

The plug-in hybrid models deliver a combined 321 horsepower, thanks to the addition of an electric motor.

Rather than changing the crossover’s core powertrain specifications, Toyota has focused its latest updates on charging convenience, equipment improvements, and increased capability for Woodland models.

2027 Toyota RAV4 Release Date

The 2027 Toyota RAV4 is expected to reach dealerships across the United States before the end of the year. Plug-in hybrid versions are scheduled to arrive in early 2027.

With improved charging technology, revised Woodland suspension components, additional standard equipment, and an extended Remote Connect trial, the updated RAV4 receives several practical changes while retaining its existing powertrain lineup.
